Business Development Representative

BMI, Inc. is seeking a Business Development Rep to join our team.

BMI is an ISO 14001:2004 certified environmental management firm. BMI has been in business for over 20 years as a dedicated, expert recycling and reclamation firm processing of all types of electronic scrap material from major manufacturers, telecom companies, and contract manufacturers.

We are looking for an experienced business development representative to approach telecom companies, telephone companies, power companies, electronics manufacturers, contact manufacturers and repair centers in order to contract our recycling / management services. There will also be many opportunities to negotiate outright purchases on e-scrap, to customize project based service agreements and manage entire projects and removals. Position centers on relationship cultivation. This Individual will aggressively approach these companies and devise marketing strategies in order to develop comprehensive recycling programs to fit their individual needs.

Business development, sales, and/or purchasing, experience is required. A good business sense, professionalism, focus, and determination will be necessary to succeed in approaching such accounts. Proficiency in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook required. The selected candidate should demonstrate ability to lead teams, communicate effectively in all mediums; and have the ability to multitask and be a problem solver.

Candidate must possess excellent creative skills, excellent communication & writing skills, and excellent corporate marketing skills. Must have the ability to target specific companies, and efficiently penetrate and deliver results. Interacting and working well with others in various environments including the office, meetings, trade shows is a must. We are looking for someone who is responsible, serious, and aggressive and is looking to make a home with us. Position involves some domestic travel.


5 yrs. Business Development, Sales, or Purchasing experience. EXCELLENT communication skills – both written and verbal –MUST BE ABLE TO COMMUNICATE IN A PROFESSIONAL MANNER – EMAILS, LETTER WRITING, ORAL COMMUNICATION, ETC.

  • $45-$55k base plus Commission plus Quarterly Bonus based on performance, profit sharing & health insurance

Yearly Average Potential:
1st year – $65,000 plus
2nd year- $85,000 plus
3rd year- $90,000 plus

  • Location: two corporate locations – Century City (90067 ) or Commerce, Ca. (90040)
  • Languages a plus. Impeccable communication skills; oral & written.
  • Industry relationships a bonus
