Parts Trends on PowerSource Online

As we approach the holiday season, many of you may be wondering how to make the most of your limited time in the office over the next month. With PowerSource Online’s online report section you are able to gauge what parts are being searched the most and trends within the supply and demand of these parts. Within the Online Report section inside PowerSource Online, you have a variety of reports at your finger tips. The first report is the Top Searched Parts report. This report can be run for the last 7 days, last 30 days, and the last 3 closed months. The report pulls back the top 200 parts searched over that period of time and gives you the Highest and Lowest total quantity that was listed during that period as well as the number of suppliers who were listing the product. For purposes of this article here are the top 25 currently broken down by the last 30 days:

In addition to the searches being done for products currently listed on the network, there are searches that occasionally go unfulfilled. As PowerSource Online focuses on true in stock inventory many times these items may just be out of stock or they are truly hard to find items. We call these “Unmatched Searches”. If you have products that are on these reports, we suggest that you get them posted onto the network as soon as possible. Here are the top 25 unmatched searches for the last 30 days:

Many times you will also see that these unmatched searched part numbers will pop up within a Want to Buy broadcast as well. If you are not set up to receive the Want to Buy broadcasts we strongly suggest that you get set up as to not miss out on sales opportunities. If you focus on specific manufacturers or simply want to see the top searched parts by OEMs, you can also break down the Online Reports by some of the more popular OEMS such as: Adtran,, , Compaq, , , Ericsson, , , Intel, Kentrox, , NEC, , Seagate, Siemens, Sun Micro, Tellabs, Toshiba, and Western Digital.
In addition to the network wide reports, if you currently have inventory on the network (by uploading a spreadsheet or by using the broadcast features), you have the ability to view inventory matches specific to that inventory which you have listed on the site. For these reports just visit the “Advertising Zone” tab and click the link that says “Inventory Matches”. For you buyers our there, there are also some things you can focus on during the holiday season.
Many dealers and resellers who are using PowerSource Online to sell equipment have been using our Bulk/Lot broadcast method to list large lots of equipment giving you the opportunity to locate large amounts of equipment at the same time.
